Grand Canyon
I went to the Grand Canyon once. I thought it was going to be life changing. It wasn’t. It looked like a big hole in the desert. We left after an hour.
I wonder if I missed something, if I was next to something glorious and missed it.

Beauty and the Fallen Nature of Man
Beauty exists in our world – in nature, humanity, music, art, literature, etc.
Plato believed believed beauty was an ultimate value, one worth pursuing in and of itself.
St. Thomas Aquinas believed beauty was an attribute of deity in which He makes himself known to the human soul.
I believe beauty gives us a gift – an escape from our self-absorption. I believe it can create reverance and awe in us, giving us a taste of a life without worries and fears. A life without the fallen nature of man dictating much of our thoughts and feelings.
